Living room sketches for our game "Somber Home"!!!

Posted by on

Hello people. Today we don't have a lot to show you, so we apologise for that, but hope you're excited to look into some of our living room sketches with us and our thought process behind it!

Level Design

The living room is one of the most important parts of our game so we'll be giving more attention to it, along with the mother's bedroom.

Sketches Living Room

Here you can see different versions of the living room, well, atleast with a few variations while still remaining with the same general shape.

We started by exploring furniture in a little rougher way, not giving a lot of importance to the lines or shape.

Then we focused on drawing different furniture designs, so we could see what would look and fit best in our game.

After that, we went back to the first sketch and made it better, adding more life into it, making it seem like there's actual people living there. We believed this sketch could be even better though.

Finally, we used a mix of the other sketches to create one that we thought to be the best for our game. In this sketch, we used the furniture designs that we prefered and saw to be better fitting, along with more indicators that people live in the house. We achieved that by having toys on the floor, things on top of cabinets and tables, making the framed pictures a little messy and adding the existence of little bowls for a possible animal.

That's all for today! Remember these are always bound to change but we will most likely be using the last sketch as a big reference for the living room!

Next article will have more info about our development so hope you're excited! See you!
